A736. Subpart W is a threshold-based subpart and facilities are only required to report if their combined emissions from all applicable GHGRP source categories exceeded 25,000 metric tons CO2e per year. Facilities are responsible for reviewing the rule requirements to assess their applicability to the reporting requirements in the rule. The EPA provides optional tools (e.g., the Applicability Tool) to assist with these assessments. Each year EPA reviews the GHGRP data to determine whether all facilities subject to the requirements submitted annual reports. Efforts to contact potentially out of compliance facilities are made by the EPA to ensure reporters are in compliance.
