Using Login.gov credentials to login to e-GGRT has replace the use of CDX/e-GGRT passwords.
Therefore, all new e-GGRT user accounts will be connected to a Login.gov account during the user registration process. (If you are registering as an e-GGRT user with a pre-existing CDX account, and that account is already connected to Login.gov then you will skip this registration step).
You will be given two Login.gov options during user registration (see image below):
- Sign in: If you have an existing Login.gov account, you are free/encouraged to use it. Enter your Login.gov Email address and Password. Then authenticate with one of the methods you have established.
- Create an account: If you do not already have a Login.gov account, you need to select "Create an account" and take a couple minutes to complete the process of creating a new Login.gov account, after which you will complete e-GGRT user registration.
Important Warnings
- Once the connection between your CDX/e-GGRT and Login.gov accounts is made, it cannot be undone. Therefore, it is important to remember which Login.gov account you use during user registration (in the event you have more than one Login.gov account).
- If you lose the ability to authenticate with your Login.gov account your CDX/e-GGRT account will become useless.
- We strongly encourage you to add multiple emails and phone numbers (work and personal) to your new or existing Login.gov account. Also, establish more than one "authentication methods" (e.g., Authentication apps, backup codes, etc...). By doing these things you can avoid losing access to your Login.gov account when things such as employment/email/phone changes occur.
- In the event you have more than one Login.gov account, please make sure you recall which Login.gov account you used when registering your new CDX/e-GGRT account. Login in after registration will only work with the Login.gov account used (or created) during the registration process.
- The email address associated with your Login.gov account does not necessarily need to match the email you enter for your e-GGRT user profile.
