On October 8, 2026, EPA issued an interim final rule to extend the 2025 reporting deadline under the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program (GHGRP) from October 30, 2026, to March 10, 2027.
As EPA continues to reassess the GHGRP, the agency understands the continued reporting requirements by regulated entities. The extension provides stakeholders adequate time to prepare and submit their reporting year reports and EPA additional time to consider comments on the GHGRP Reconsideration Proposal. Additionally, it will ensure that industries subject to the GHGRP can benefit from any revisions that EPA may make for the 2025 reporting year in any separate final actions following the GHGRP Reconsideration Proposal.
EPA will hold a 45 day public comment period on the interim final action.
